The Harmonious Life, directed by…

Character is the key signature. Skills and developing gifts are the notes. God is the composer and conductor, as our child plays the tune of their life. Each child will play different notes more or less often than other children, and sometimes faster or slower in different places as the Holy Spirit guides them according to their bent. He gives each a different instrument just right for them. Our job as parents is to teach them how to hold their hands correctly, sit up straight, and stretch their fingers. Even more importantly, we must teach and model how to read the music and understand the composer’s intent, recognize the correct key signature from the wrong ones, and pay attention to the conductor at all times. We have our work cut out for us, but the conductor/composer is guiding us, too, as we play the tune of our lives. When we all play together, God’s beauty overwhelms the audience, and He is glorified.
